Field Geology

Catalog description

Theory and practice in the qualitative and quantitative description of spatial relationships of major rock types, contacts, and structures through construction of geologic maps. Emphasis on developing fundamental field skills, including logistical planning, navigation, data collection and documentation, and professional protocol during site visits. Students will be charged a fee to cover the cost of field trip expenses. Prerequisites: Geology 1110, Geology 1120, and Geology 1129.
