Catalog description

This course introduces concepts of computational economics using machine learning and artificial intelligence and the practice of analysis using applications related to microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. The course teaches data and text mining, deep learning, and causal machine learning using Python programming to extract economic insights. Prerequisite: Econ 1100 and Econ 1200, and one of the following: Stat 3111, Stat 3113, Stat 3115, Stat 3117, or Stat 5346, or instructor approval.
