Introduction to Glassmaking

Catalog description

This studio course introduces fundamental skills in glassmaking. Students will utilize a wide range of traditional and unconventional techniques to answer essential questions. This course will cover the historical and contemporary contexts of glass while demonstrating techniques in furnace-working and cold-working. Students will engage in weekly practice sessions in the furnace in order to complete their assignments.
