Catalog description

As pharmacists are medication experts, they must learn how to evaluate the reliability of information to effectively implement the pharmacists’ patient care process (PPCP). Evidence based medicine (EBM) is relevant in assessing, planning, implementing, and following up on a therapeutic plan within the PPCP. Throughout the EBM course series, students will be taught a rigorous five-step systematic methodology assisting them with integrating this process into multidisciplinary healthcare decision-making for improved patient care. Applied Skills Lab II allows students opportunities to apply concepts learned in EBM I and EBM II to clinical questions and scenarios encountered in pharmacy practice.
