Catalog description

This course provides fundamentals of biochemistry related to pharmacy practice for students who will be taking pharmacology and pharmacotherapy. Topics covered include cell structure and function, metabolic functions, signal transduction, wound healing, basic biotechnology, enzyme function, genetic and protein regulation, and the basics of how drugs affect these systems. Throughout the course, we will explore specific examples of how basic science effects pharmacy practice.
