This course introduces students to the lucrative, inspiring field of freelance medical writing. Students will gain a foundational understanding of the role of a freelance medical writer, including typical projects, compensation, and the entrepreneurial mindset and activities needed to succeed. Students will create a unique writing sample for their portfolio to boost their credibility as a medical and communications professional. Students will gain clarity on whether they wish to pursue freelance medical writing, what that would entail, and how it may support or enhance their clinical role and open other aligned career opportunities.
