Catalog description

A two semester experiential course involving live client representation. Students represent the parents or custodians in obtaining permanency for children who are under the jurisdiction of the Jackson County Family Court or relatives/custodians needing a probate guardianship for a minor whose parent is unable, unwilling or unfit to care for the child. Students work under the supervision and direction of clinic faculty who are licensed to practice law in Missouri and receive classroom instruction in the substantive law and procedure governing domestic relations, adoption, minor guardianship, or juvenile court actions.
