Catalog description

This is a one semester, 2 credit hour experiential course. Study of guardian ad litem best practices in all types of actions involving representation of children. (GAL). Topics include domestic violence /adult and child orders of protection, requirements for guardian ad litem appointments, role of the GAL, ethical considerations, trauma-informed legal representation, child permanency and cross cultural competence. Live client representation when possible.
