Catalog description

This course is a survey of the pretrial civil litigation process, with emphasis on practical drafting experience and the mechanics of writing. It is intended primarily for students interested in litigation, but all students can benefit from the coaching in writing skills and the feedback on their writing that the course provides. At course completion, the students should be able to draft basic litigation documents including settlement demands, initial pleadings, discovery, discovery motions, pre-trial motions, and summary judgment motions.
