This course explores the evolving legal landscape of data privacy and cybersecurity through the lens of litigation. Students will examine statutory and regulatory frameworks, analyze real-world caselaw, and develop practical litigation skills. Topics include federal and state wiretap laws, biometric privacy, breach notification, website tracking, and class-action strategy. Students will engage in drafting exercises, litigation simulations, and strategic analysis of emerging technologies. The course is designed to prepare students for practice in privacy litigation, regulatory enforcement, and compliance counseling.
