Catalog description

This course introduces students to writing in the health sciences. Students will explore concepts related to the role of written communication in professional practice, including documentation standards, ethical considerations, and the impact of clear writing on patient care and public health. The course will examine essential writing skills required by health professionals, such as proper grammar, professional tone, accuracy, and audience awareness, as well as exposure to a variety of health science genres. Students will also analyze writing practices across health sectors such as medical, government, business, non-profit, and community-based organizations.
