Catalog description

This interdisciplinary course covers the role of workers and the labor movement in society and the American political and economic system. Students will gain an overview, from a labor viewpoint, of the organization of work and workers, collective bargaining and representation, and labor's rights, roles, and strategies in a democracy and in the global economy. A particular focus will be the image of the working class and organized labor in the media and among public perception.
