Learn how to make your own beats! Create music with instruments you invent! Find your own ways of notating music using graphics, text, and images. This course uses a hands-on approach to composition as a means to explore sound and listening to music. Through a progressive series of composition projects, students investigate the sonic organization of musical works and performances, focusing on fundamental questions of making music. This course requires no prior musical training.
