Catalog description

This course will enable students to develop an intermediate embodied knowledge of a specific dance genre. This movement-based course is designed for students with some prior dance experience. We will spend the majority of our class time moving, focusing on intermediate-level technical and artistic training. A few readings, lectures, and assignments will support students' understanding of dance in a broader context. As we develop a community in our studio, we will work together to better understand our bodies in relation to the world around us. The genres covered in the course may vary by semester. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour : 1-3 Prerequisites: THEATR 2420 or Instructor consent required
