Goals/Objectives: 1. Provide the student with ability to function as a first year general surgery house officer with close supervision and one-on-one instruction. 2. Become familiar with pre-operative, operative, and post-operative care of general surgical patients. 3. Become familiar with the graded responsibility structure necessary to ethically conduct post-graduate surgical residency training. 4. Develop bedside patient care skills. 5. Develop reading and clinical research skills necessary for contemporary surgical care. Credit Hour s : 5
