Catalog description

Students will enhance their knowledge, skills, and attitudes about patient-centered care through active participation in direct patient care activities while under the supervision of a faculty preceptor. Students will integrate previously acquired knowledge and concepts and apply them to the care and management of patients. During the elective, students will be expected to work-up patients, perform physical exams, and present cases to faculty. Students will also be exposed to treatment planning, simulations, and treatment deliveries throughout the rotation. At the end of the elective, students will be expected to give a 10-minute presentation on a topic of their choosing. Credit Hour s : 5 Prerequisites: Successful completion of the first two years of medical school
