Two Week - Psychiatry Consultation and Liaison

Students will participate in the psychiatric consultation process for medical rehabilitation, medical and surgical inpatients. The types of patients seen present with a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions such as depression, substance abuse, anxiety disorders, delirium, dementia, somatoform disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders and organic behavior/mood disorders. Typical duties include bedside evaluation in collaboration with attendings and residents, documentation and presentation of findings and recommendations and participation in rounds. Credit Hour s : 2 Prerequisites: Successful completion of the first two years of medical school
