Catalog description

(cross-leveled with PRST 4250 ). Exposure to nature in parks and natural areas can improve physical, psychological and social health. This course explores the concepts, research, theories and contemporary issues related to the health benefits of parks and exposure to nature. Through this course, students will examine the importance of parks and natural resources to public health. The course emphasizes case studies and practical applications in addition to guided discussions of assigned readings. Offered periodically. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3
