Contemporary Issues in Sport

(cross-leveled with PRST 4150 ). This course provides an analysis of the place of sport in American society and the impact of sport on American culture. Social and cultural contexts in which sport exists and how those contexts are influenced by sport will be examined. Concepts and theories will be utilized to examine how social issues and change, relationships, and organization affect sport. Emphasis will be placed on current issues and trends in sport and society. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3
