Catalog description

This course introduces the main ideas and techniques of quantum computation - a fascinating and rapidly developing field of research. The course explains how the strange and counter-intuitive features of quantum mechanics can be harnessed to perform tasks that would be extremely time-consuming, or even impossible, if approached by classical means. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: PHYSCS 3150 or PHYSCS 3150W , MATH 4140 , or instructor's consent
