Catalog description

Advanced study through readings and discussion of selected topics related to cardiovascular risk and disease development, including hypertension, endothelial dysfunction, vascular insulin resistance, arterial stiffness, atherosclerosis and heart failure, with a particular emphasis on the effects of physical activity and exercise. Special focus will also be placed on understanding the links between lack of physical activity, metabolic disorders, and increased cardiovascular risk. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3 Recommended: Undergraduate level exercise physiology is highly recommended
