Introduces the principles of immune system function and their application to human health and disease. Students will explore the mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity, immune regulation, and the immunologic basis of disorders such as autoimmunity, immunodeficiency, allergy, infection, and cancer. Emphasis is placed on clinical correlations, diagnostic immunology, modern immunotherapies, and clinical case studies. Designed for pre-professional students preparing for careers in medicine, nursing, biomedical research, and health-related fields. Graded on A-F basis only.
