Conceptual introduction to nonlinear dynamics, bifurcation and stability of steady states, chaos in nonlinear differential equations and maps, fractal dimension, strange attractors, and applications to physical science. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: graduate standing and MATH 4100 / MATH 7100 , MATH 4140 / MATH 7140 , and familiarity with software such as MATHEMATICA, MATLAB, or MAPLE
