Catalog description

Introduction to airplane flight. Topics include aerodynamics of the airplane, lift and drag, aircraft drag polar, aircraft propulsion characteristics including piston-props, turbojets, and turbofans, level flight, the flight envelope, range and endurance, climbing and turning flight, takeoff and landing, flight maneuvers using energy methods. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: C- or better in MAE 2100 , MAE 2600 or ENGINR 2260 , and PHYSCS 2750 . Restricted to Mechanical Engineering students only
