Catalog description
Employment Law focuses on the legal relationship between employers and employees in the non-unionized workplace. The course will survey a variety of issues regarding the establishment, maintenance and termination of the employment relationship. For example, the course will cover the common law aspects of that relationship, particularly contracts and torts. It will examine statutory modifications of the common law in areas such as wage and hours, pensions, whistle-blower protection, unemployment insurance, workers compensation, and health and safety. Credit Hour : 1-3
