Catalog description

This course address legal issues impacting older individuals, including discussion of government benefits (Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Supplemental Security Income), long-term care (types, contract issues, civil rights, and financial planning), guardianship and conservatorship, planning for incapacity, and health care decisions at the end of life. The course emphasizes planning techniques for the average client. Grade will be based on a short paper and take-home exam. The course may be taken for writing credit. Credit Hour : 1-3
