Catalog description

The course covers the status, rights and obligations of children in contemporary American law; civil proceedings and criminal prosecutions alleging child abuse or neglect; foster care; termination of parental rights; juvenile protective legislation; and delinquency. Emphasis is placed on juvenile justice doctrine, policy and practice issues and the historical and contemporary operation of juvenile and family courts. Credit Hour : 1-3
