Catalog description

This is a review of Legal History. The course covers such topics as the impact of the English common law heritage; the development of law in the American colonies; and, slavery, race and gender in 19th century America. The course ends with the conclusion of the Civil War. The course will explore the effects of historical events on the development of law, but the course does not presume prior study of American history. Credit Hour : 1-3
