Catalog description

This course focuses on the development and communication of legal analysis skills, such as (a) identifying, extracting, and synthesizing legal rules; (b) identifying and synthesizing legal reasoning from case law; (c) making decisions about which cases to use and how to use them to illustrate legal principles; and (d) predicting legal outcomes for specific factual scenarios using legal reasoning. Students will learn the doctrine of legal writing and how to conduct legal research. Students will be expected to achieve proficiency in both legal citation and basic grammar. Students will draft multiple informative legal memoranda to practice and demonstrate their understanding of these new skills. Credit Hour : 1-3
