Gender and Media

(same as WGST 7716 ; cross-leveled with JOURN 4716 , WGST 4716 ). This class examines the intersections of gender, race, sexuality, class, and media. The goal of this course is to examine gender politics and media representation through intersectional feminist perspectives. Throughout the semester, students and the instructor will analyze how feminist theories and practices interact with media representation, identity politics, media production, and media reception. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: Graduate Standing
