(cross-leveled with JOURN 7820 ). As organizations evolve to prioritize audience-driven content strategies, there is a growing demand for strategists who understand how to focus on long-term goals to build trust in communities. Working with nonprofits, local businesses, and community newsrooms, students will learn about algorithms and optimizing content for search engine results. They will learn how to read and understand analytics to spot trends and develop a strategy steeped in data, while encouraging engagement and interaction with audiences. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: C- or higher in JOURN 4180 or JOURN 4200 . Restricted to Journalism majors
