Senior Capstone Design I - Writing Intensive

Capstone I serves as the preparatory phase of the Information Technology capstone sequence, integrating leadership theory, professional ethics, and applied research within a collaborative, project based environment. Students will examine major leadership frameworks; trait, skills, behavioral, transformational, authentic, and adaptive - and apply ethical decision-making to real-world IT dilemmas involving data privacy, cybersecurity, AI bias, and intellectual property. Working in teams, students will identify a relevant problem, research existing solutions, and define a unique value proposition while developing technology justifications, user and market research, and design artifacts such as UX flowcharts and low-fidelity mockups. The course culminates in a comprehensive Capstone Proposal Draft that includes problem definition, technical rationale, ethical considerations, and design documentation, with strong emphasis on professional communication, teamwork, and project planning in preparation for Capstone II. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: C- or higher in INFOTC 4320 . Senior standing required. Restricted to INFOTC majors
