(same as PEA_ST 7685 ; cross-leveled with PEA_ST 4685 , HIST 4685 ). Provides a historical account, psychological analysis, and philosophical contemplation of the Holocaust. Examines the Nazi regime's systematic attempt to exterminate the Jews of Europe along with a number of additional population groups. Course is organized around the use of primary sources (written texts, photographs, films, and oral testimony) as well as the practice of historiography (for graduate students).
