Catalog description
This course explores how volcanism has shaped human culture and society. By examining case studies spanning 4,000 years, we examine how volcanoes work, how they are studies, how they have impacted human cultures, and how we manage volcanic hazards. Students will gain appreciation of volcanology as a broad scientific discipline within geology and the role that science plays in public policy. Credit Hour s : 3
