Catalog description

(cross-leveled with GEOG 4200 ). Geopolitics examines politics, especially international relations, as influenced by geographical factors. To reveal and forecast global trends, we examine the interactions of geographical contexts and perspectives with international and domestic political processes. Our geopolitical analysis is both thematic and regional. Geographical themes are multi-disciplinary and include location and place, physical geography and natural resources, population and immigration, culture and ethnicity, religion, economics and trade, foreign policy, conflict, globalization, and development. These are examined in the context of eight world regions and the polar realms. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3
