Catalog description

The first course in a two-semester culminating design sequence. Students work individually or in multidisciplinary teams to define, research, and develop a feasible solution to a real-world engineering technology problem. Emphasis is placed on project identification, requirements development, technical analysis, feasibility assessment, preliminary design, and project planning. Professional skills - including teamwork, ethical responsibility, safety, sustainability, and effective technical communications, are integrated throughout the course. The course results in an approved project proposal, preliminary design package, and detailed implementation plan to be executed in Capstone II. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: C- or higher in ENGTC 3200 and senior standing required
