(same as PUB_AF 7357 ; cross-leveled with ECONOM 4357 ). Analyzes the economics of health care in the United States with particular attention paid to the role of government. It examines the demand for health care and the structure and consequences of public and private health insurance; the supply of health care, including professional training, licensure, specialization and compensation, hospital competition and finance, and the determinants and consequences of technical change in medicine: and examination of recent proposals and initiatives for health care reform. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: ECONOM 3251 or ECONOM 4351 and ( STAT 2200 or STAT 2500 or ECONOM 3271 ) or equivalent
