Parallel Hardware and Distributed Systems

(same as CMP_SC 8275 ). This course is an in-depth exploration of parallel computing systems at the intersection of Computer Engineering and Computer Science. Parallel computing architectures are investigated at multiple scales, ranging from graphical processing units (GPU) to global-scale hyper-cluster and grid computing. Specifically, the use of these systems to accelerate scientific discoveries is explored, combining programming and algorithm development with hardware concepts. Graded on A-F basis only.
