ECE 8275
Parallel Hardware and Distributed Systems
University of Missouri-Columbia · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
(same as CMP_SC 8275 ). This course is an in-depth exploration of parallel computing systems at the intersection of Computer Engineering and Computer Science. Parallel computing architectures are investigated at multiple scales, ranging from graphical processing units (GPU) to global-scale hyper-cluster and grid computing. Specifically, the use of these systems to accelerate scientific discoveries is explored, combining programming and algorithm development with hardware concepts. Graded on A-F basis only. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: CMP_SC 4050 /CMP_SC or CMP_SC 4250/CMP_SC 7250 or ECE 4220 / ECE 7220 or ECE 4270 / ECE 7270
