(same as CMP_SC 4720 ; cross-leveled with ECE 7720 , CMP_SC 7720 ). This course provides foundation knowledge to the basic methods in machine learning and pattern recognition (MLPR). MLPR addresses the problems of programming computers to optimize certain performance criteria by using example data or expert knowledge and it has wide applications. Graded on A-F basis only.
