This course provides basic concepts and theorems in information theory, discrete cosine transform, discrete wavelet transform, quantizer design, bit allocation, and rate-distortion analysis and practical coding and communication system design, (such as Huffman coding, arithmetic coding, variable length coding, motion estimation, JPEG.)
