Argument and Advocacy - Honors

Catalog description

Critical analysis and production of argument emphasizing evidence, reasoning, and persuasive strategy. Students will apply argumentation concepts to evaluate public arguments from logical, rhetorical, and procedural perspectives. Such arguments will involve contemporary topics of the day, such as political campaigns, public policy, legal discourse, and social advocacy. Students will also develop advocacy skills through debate and public speech presentations. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: COMMUN 1200 . Honors eligibility required. May be restricted to students majoring in Communication or Public Administration and Policy during early registration
