(same as BIOL_EN 4175 ; cross-leveled with BIOL_EN 7175 ). The course encompasses the application of engineering principles combined with cell biology, medicine, and materials science to understand tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. It provides a fundamental understanding of property-function relationships in biomaterials and cells during tissue growth and development required to restore or improve tissue and organ functions as well as to design tissue-engineered constructs. Prerequisites: CHEM 2100 and one the following: BME 3075 , or BME 3170 , or ENGINR 2200 . Credit Hour s : 3
