Catalog description

(same as AN_SCI 4020 ). This course empowers students with the knowledge and skillsets to prepare and interpret critical economic and financial data and allow it to inform the production decisions made in forage-livestock systems. This course was developed on the premise it is one thing to know how to operate a forage-livestock production system and another thing to know how to manage a forage-livestock system as a profitable business. Therefore, this course was designed to expand upon knowledge gained through capstone animal production courses in the Division of Animal Sciences, building students' managerial abilities with respect to forage-livestock businesses. Credit Hour s : 3 Prerequisites: Junior standing or instructor's consent required Recommended: Prior coursework in microeconomics is strongly encouraged, such as ECONOM 1014 , ECONOM 1024, or ABM 1041 . Co-enrollment or prior enrollment in AN_SCI 4975 is encouraged but not required
