Credits: 3 45 contact hours This elective course is designed as a study of death, dying, bereavement and related issues. The course is designed for anyone who desires to think and feel deeply about the meaning of life in its many relationships. The primary purpose of death education is to enrich life through the maturing of values. After confronting death imaginatively though lectures, reading, thinking, discussions and group projects, students can be more comfortable when dealing with the dying and their families. Students can learn to face and accept death as a natural fact of life and thereby be more supportive when explaining death to children and more sensitive to the complex ethical issues related to death and dying Note: Nursing elective.
