Credits: 3 This is an introductory course on eating disorders and body image issues. The course will emphasize a public health perspective, and will include discussion of the following topics: anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, purging, binge-eating, obesity, body dysmorphic disorder, muscle dysmorphia, pica, and female athlete triad. Causes, symptoms, related medical issues, high risk populations, screening options, public health interventions, and cross-cultural influences will be examined throughout. Also Listed as: WGS 385
