Credits: 3 Prerequisite: EN 102 and a 200-level English course or permission of the Department Chair of Languages, Literature, and Philosophy This course involves a study of linguistics as it applies to teaching, writing, and literary analysis. Students learn how to use current linguistic research and theories to improve the writing of middle school, secondary, and ESOL learners. They also learn how dialects affect writing and how advanced writers use linguistic approaches to enhance their readers’ experience
