Teacher Internship: Elementary

Credits: 9 Prerequisite: ED 435 - Education Residency III Prerequisite/Corequisite: ED 466 - Diagnosing & Assessing Reading Difficulties in Children This course provides immersive teaching experience in a classroom setting, in an accredited school, under the mentorship of qualified Mentor Teachers and MUW University Supervisors. Teacher Interns participate in regular individual conferences with both their Mentor Teacher and University Supervisor to support their professional growth and development. Scheduled five days a week during the Professional Semester, the course includes three mandatory Internship Seminars. The internship is structured in two phases-Phase I and Phase II-offering two diverse placements to enhance learning. Teacher Interns adhere to the schedule and calendar of their Mentor Teacher and are required to complete a minimum of 480 hours in the classroom. Note: Full time during the Professional Semester according to the schedule of the school to which each student is assigned. To enroll in these courses, students must be officially admitted to Teacher Internship
