Credits: 3 Prerequisite: ED 200 Prerequisite/Corequisite: ED 200 , ED 302 , ED 306 , ED 311 This course is designed to introduce students to the Science of Reading and best practices, concepts, and materials for Structured Literacy instruction This course provides an evidence-based foundation in the cognitive, socio-cultural, linguistic, and motivational influences on literacy and language development. Teaching strategies for oral language development and systematic early reading and writing instruction specific to concepts about print, phonemic awareness, and phonics will be covered. Note: A minimum grade of C is required for this course. This course can only be taken twice
