Catalog description

Credits: 3 This hands-on course give future teachers the skills needed to use computers as instructional tools. This is a broad introductory 3-hour course with emphasis on the basic functions of a computer as an aid to foster learning in the classroom. The course includes how a computer works, basic networking, the Web, the Internet, security and privacy and device peripherals. Students develop classroom projects ans assignments that infuse computer aided technologies within their lessons using digital learning tools such as portfolio and other software applications. Students also learn the techniques of Internet searches and software evaluation. Note: Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education majors: Minimum grade of C is required for this course. This course can only be taken twice
