Catalog description

(Prerequisite: C or better in CSE 1284 , MA 3113 , and IE 4613 or BQA 2113 or ST 4543 ). Three hours lecture. This course introduces the foundational concepts and principles of quantum computing and quantum communication. It covers the fundamental theories of quantum mechanics that underpin these emerging technologies, including superposition, entanglement, and quantum measurement. Students will explore quantum algorithms and understand how these algorithms differ from classical approaches in solving computational problems. The course also addresses the basics of quantum communication, including quantum key distribution and quantum teleportation, and examines their implications for secure communication systems
